Studying is important for every student out there, but it’s far from easy – long hours spent at a laptop or in front of books processing endless information can be exhausting. This exhaustion can lead to boredom, stress, hunger or a healthy (or unhealthy) combination of the three, and when people lack time there’s a much better chance that we resort to poor eating habits – especially when if we’re studying somewhere comfortable, like student accommodation. In this article, we provide some great tips to help ensure you don’t spiral into a bad food eating binge while you study – this way, you maintain your health which is crucial for – you guessed it! – more effective study habits.

Focus on your food wherever possible

It can be very difficult when studying, particularly when students are relegated to staying in their student apartments in Perth – unlike the university library or a café, it can be really tough to exercise restraint in a comfortable home environment. When you’re studying from the comfort of your own home, it’s a very wise investment to start practicing mindful eating. This kind of eating is basically a way that we can maintain good health while also minimising stress wherever possible. Mindful eating habits can mean a lot of things, but perhaps the best tip to start with is not rushing when you eat. Fast, mindless eating will often mean that you scoff down a lot more food than you actually need a lot of the time, and if it is a particularly kilojoule dense food – like potato chips – you’ll rip through bags like there’s no tomorrow and likely still be hungry. To stay on top of this, make sure to focus only on eating when you’re eating. It’s important to not scroll through your phone and avoid watching tv at all costs so that you recognise and appreciate every mouthful.

Reconsider how eat your food

If you find that you’re practicing bad eating habits, it might also be time to rethink how you experience food. Many people see food as a way to relieve stress while studying, but food should never be used as an emotional crutch. If you’re feeling stressed, a much better outlet is exercise, which allows you to better manage stress and burn off kilojoules, rather than pile them on. Plus it gives you an opportunity to step out of your student accommodation and see the wonderful sights around Perth! To make this process simpler, it’s good to redefine food as an energy source, rather than entertainment. Rather than eating whenever you feel like it, eat when you’re hungry (your body is very good at telling you when, so no need to worry there). To ensure that you’re not hungry at random times, work out how much food you need and structure your large meal times and any snack times you need so you aren’t randomly wandering your house or apartment looking for snacks at random times throughout the day.

Mindful eating is an excellent life skill

Mindful eating shouldn’t just be a consideration when studying – adopting this skill can greatly enhance your entire life. If you find it difficult to adjusting to structured snacking and eating, it’s a wise idea to only buy healthy snacks, such as carrots and nuts. This way whenever you’re tempted, you’ll be giving your body something nutritious, rather than empty energy.

“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe” – Abraham Lincoln seems to perfectly justify the situation. Strategizing before executing is the success mantra to crack NEET as well. A preparation strategy is inevitable if you aim at cracking NEET in the very first attempt. Candidates appearing for the exam must be well aware of the fact that the syllabus for NEET is vast, often seems challenging to master all the chapters, and hence seems quite intimidating. However, the feat of clearing NEET in your first attempt can be achieved if the very first requirement of vigilant strategizing is fulfilled.

Preparing for board exams as well as NEET can seem intimidating, but aspirants over the years apparently have found the secret to maintaining a balance between both and achieving success. Toppers over the years believe that escalating levels of preparation in the smartest way just after appearing for the board exams seamlessly to crack NEET in the first attempt must be the go-to.

Let’s face it, we all have had the pre-exam jitters, especially when it is about participating in the country’s biggest medical entrance exams, given the reputation it has in addition to facing the cut-throat competition. But, let me make it loud and clear, cracking NEET in the first attempt is absolutely doable, it has been done in the past. The only qualities required are perseverance and undying determination to stay on the path only to achieve it. Right from registering, filling up the NEET UG Admit Card, preparation to finally appearing for NEET, students must be well-grounded and focussed.

With that in mind, let us get to the nitty-gritty of it. Let us understand how we go about achieving this feat in the very first attempt.

1. Strategize and aim high

This has to be the first step in your endeavour of cracking NEET in the first attempt. Strategizing provides a sense of direction and helps outline measurable goals. This way, you are in a position to predict the outcomes to an extent. Not only that, but it also helps one come up with possible solutions to deal with adverse outcomes. Devise a plan, with the remaining days left before the upcoming test. As it is said, “You get what you aim for. Aim for the highest possible and settle not for less”.

2. Smart work over hard work

“It is not the load that breaks you down; it is the way you carry it” – aptly conveys how your course of action should be. What gives you an edge over the 15 lakh+ candidates appearing for the test is smart work. We all know the syllabus for NEET, but what differentiates the toppers and ones clearing them to the ones failing to clear NEET is how tactfully they approach NEET. Prefer working smartly over hard work.

3. Frame a timetable

Divide your day into feasible time slots to plan topic wise, subject wise. Time table must be followed diligently. Set daily, weekly, monthly goals that are realistic and can be achieved. It renders a clear picture to schedule upcoming days. Set deadlines, shorter goals, and achieve them.

4. Study material

NCERT must be the holy grail for all NEET aspirants. Apart from these, relevant sources must be referred to. There is no dearth of books at all for NEET. You can carefully pick the reference books after you have done your research based on previous papers, experience of NEET toppers, suggestions from experts, etc.

5. Ditch rote memorization, gain conceptual clarity

One of the mistakes students commit is failing to understand the purpose behind NEET. NEET does not aim to assess your memorization skills, rather it aims at assessing your understanding of topics. Hence questions are asked indirectly, to assess your knowledge of the topic. Prioritize understanding concepts, seek assistance to get your concepts cleared, this is pivotal.

6. Practice and Revise

Importance of practising from previous year’s questions papers, taking mock tests, solving 150-200 questions every day, exhaustive revisions must be something that should be done on a daily basis.

Follow these simple steps and you are sure to crack NEET in the very first attempt. It is an uphill task but surely achievable.

Student life can be tough- especially when you have to manage work and school. Though the shift to an online platform has made classes easily available, it hasn’t lessened the pressure. It gets so overwhelming that we think, “I wish someone would take my online class for me.” Well, you’re in luck. Such services are available and they are quickly gaining popularity.

This is a relatively new concept. It is designed for those who are juggling many things in their lives at once. You may need to work part-time or full-time to pay your daily expenses and online classes become difficult to attend. There may be some personal issues to take care of or maybe you just need some time off to relax.

Whichever reason it may be, there is a website to fulfill this need. These sites aim to make your academic life easier. How? By taking the classes, completing the assignments and giving the tests on your behalf for good grades. Experts in different subjects are usually hired for such tasks, ensuring that your grades aren’t at risk.

Advantages of Using Such Services:

Taking online classes has many advantages. Flexibility is the number one advantage. You can access the lessons from wherever you are whenever you want. Though this gives you freedom, it may be hard to adjust it to your schedule. This is where such websites can help.

Students all learn and understand concepts at their own pace. Online courses may not consider these individual paces. Thus, when it comes to taking the exam, students could have trouble passing, lowering their grades. Allowing an expert to take your course for you will let you learn on your own with high grades.

For high grades, students have to pass tests and submit assignments and projects on time. You may ask, “Will the expert do my assignments online?” The answer to that question is yes! Rushing to meet the deadline will no longer be a problem. The assignments will be of standard quality, created to get you a high grade.

Not only that, they will also create comprehensive notes for you to revise while they take the online classes. They can recommend the best textbooks to refer to and gather all of the material required for study in one place. This is great for those who can’t attend the classes but still want to give the exams.

Quality service providers will professionally finish your homework and assignments before the deadline. This gives you the chance to focus on other things such as different courses, develop new hobbies, or just spend some time with family. You will get a lot of time to yourself.

Mental health has become increasingly important today. It is important to understand the negative impact on our mind from too much pressure. Getting in touch with such service providers is easy and simple to do. You don’t have to worry about the repercussions if you choose a professional and reliable company. Thus, such companies aren’t a bad idea.

Have you observed how ice melts when it is kept outside the fridge? The ice is available in solid form but when the temperature is not maintained, it turns into water, which is the liquid form. Drying up of ponds and rivers is an example of a change in state from liquid to gaseous form. So what is changing states of matter?

Changing states of matter is defined as the change in the physical state of the matter. Changing states of matter is a reversible change and do not include any chemical changes.

After learning the definition, the next question would be, why is there a change in the phase of these matters? The answer is when there is a change in the temperature and/or pressure, a phase change occurs. The interactions between the molecules of these matters are dependent on the parameters, such as temperature and pressure.

What are the different states?

Following are the different states of matter:

  • Solid: Solids can either melt into liquids or sublime into gases. Solids are obtained by deposition or by freezing process.
  • Liquid: Liquids vaporize into gases or solidify into solids. Liquids are obtained either by condensation or by melting of solids.
  • Gas: Gases can be changed into plasma, or to liquids, or into solids. Gases are obtained through processes such as sublimation of solids, vaporization of liquids, and recombination of plasma.

Different processes involved in change in states of matter

  • Melting

The change in which the substance changes from a solid phase to the liquid phase is known as melting. Melting of an ice cube is an example of this process.

  • Freezing

The change in which the substance changes from the liquid phase to the solid phase is known as freezing. Freezing of sweetened cream into ice cream is an example of this process.

  • Vaporization

The change in which the substance changes from the liquid phase to the gaseous phase is known as vaporization. Example of this process can be observed when acetone is used as a nail paint remover.

  • Condensation

When the gaseous state changes into a liquid state, that process is known as condensation. Condensation of water vapour into dew drops is an example.

  • Sublimation

The process in which solid changes into gas is known as sublimation. Dry ice converting into carbon dioxide gas is an example of sublimation.

  • Deposition

The process in which gaseous state changes into solid-state is known as a deposition. The solid layer of the mirror is obtained by depositing silver vapour.

  • Ionization

The transformation of the gaseous state into a plasma state is known as ionization.
